In 2008, I started learning oil painting under Shan. He was a young man who just started his career as an artist after learning his craft in France. I still remember he was very shy. Over the last 12 years, Shan has matured and grown a lot as an artist as well as a teacher. I have seen how his art work has improved and recent years he has developed a unique style for portrait, which I would describe as realism set in a contemporary style. Today, Shan is very confident as a teacher. He is very patient and “generous” in teaching and imparting his techniques with his students. Besides being a talented and experienced artist, Shan has a great passion in teaching students. Under him, I have learnt and improved so much. I started this hobby without any background or talent. I could not even paint an apple properly in the first year. Under Shan’s guidance, I have completed many paintings, including portraits which I consider hardest to do. Every time I attend class, I still learn new things from him. Shan has tirelessly encouraged and pushed me to improve my work. Thank you, Shan, for all your guidance and I look forward to learning more things from you.

I have been thinking of painting since my school days 45 years ago. When I finally decided to give it a go, I was fortunate to have Shan as my teacher.
Shan is a talented artist with an immense heart to teach and to share his knowledge. He is a skillful artist who is extremely sharp in pointing out what could be improved in my paintings, demonstrating how to set the color tone and contrast, and the appropriate brushstrokes and technique to create the desired effect.
As a teacher, Shan is approachable, providing exhaustive answers to all of my questions and creating a learning atmosphere that is familiar and comfortable. He is kind and supportive, giving me the space to express my creativity and imagination.
It has been 3 years since I’ve had Shan as my teacher and I have benefited greatly from his patience and sincere guidance. Shan is instrumental in improving my painting skills and enabling me to enjoy painting. As a beginner, my confidence has grown and I feel inspired to become an artist one day. Thank you, Shan.

Attending painting class every week at Art Dimension studio is always a pleasant experience.
The group size is kept small to ensure that Wen Shan is able to give sufficient time, attention and guidance to everyone.  Unlike some art studios where instructors would just walk around and tell you how to improve your painting, Wen Shan shows you exactly how to do it so that you actually improve.

Art is a very relaxing thing to do. I have always enjoyed creating art when I was in school but I did not pursue it after I left school. I never thought I would pick up the paint brush and start to express myself through art again. Just as a language can be lost if not spoken for years, the ability to paint or draw can be lost if not nurtured.  But it returns quickly once you again immerse yourself in it. Now I feel so satisfied that I could put my emotions and imaginations into an artwork. The results are very encouraging though I'm still learning.
Art Dimension Studio is a warm and welcoming place where I enjoy discussing my artworks and sharing my ideas with Shan. He is a gifted artist and an inspiring teacher who has patients and enthusiasms in teaching art. He is a great teacher in my art journey, his encouragement and inspiration make me believe I can do more than what I think I can.  To those of you who may have put art on hold for a while, know that it will come back.  Be patient and continue to practice.

Shan is a wonderful teacher. Though strict, he is also patient and encouraging. Under his guidance, I think I can paint much better and have become more observant. I look forward to attending his lesson every week. 

Shan is very talented and has the patience of a saint! He is an excellent teacher. He is positive and encouraging. What I like best is that he will show you the process from start to finish and sometimes with pieces of his own artwork. I personally have learned a lot especially painting with oil.

Shan is an extremely patient teacher. I started thinking I cannot even draw much less paint, but Shan helped me overcome that.
